Short version: ETC Wallet keeps private keys on your device and does not use accounts or hosted custody. The desktop app has no telemetry. This website uses Yandex Metrika for traffic analytics.

1. What we collect

The desktop wallet collects no personal information. There is no account system, no email address, and no name required to use the application.

2. Private keys and wallet data

Your private keys and keystore files are stored locally on your device. They are encrypted using AES-256 with a passphrase that you set. This passphrase is never transmitted anywhere. ETC Wallet does not have access to your keys at any point.

3. Network communication

To function, ETC Wallet communicates with the Ethereum Classic network via RPC endpoints. These calls include:

  • Fetching account balances for addresses you enter
  • Retrieving transaction history for your addresses
  • Broadcasting signed transactions to the network

These calls are made directly to public ETC RPC nodes. The operators of those nodes may log request data according to their own policies. We do not operate any intermediate server that handles your wallet data.

4. Analytics and telemetry

ETC Wallet contains no analytics code, no crash reporting services, and no telemetry. The application does not phone home.

5. Downloads and website

When you visit this website, standard server access logs may record your IP address and browser user agent as part of normal web infrastructure operation. The website also uses Yandex Metrika to measure visits, link clicks, page performance, and session quality. This analytics is separate from wallet keys, wallet files, seed phrases, and blockchain transactions.

6. Open source verification

Because ETC Wallet is open source, you are not required to take these statements on trust. The source code is publicly available on GitHub. You can audit the code, compile it yourself, and verify that the published binaries match the source using the provided SHA-256 checksums.

7. Third-party services

The desktop wallet does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising or tracking services. The website loads Yandex Metrika for analytics. External links open third-party services, subject to their own privacy policies.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and note the change in the project changelog.

9. Contact

Questions about this policy can be raised via the GitHub repository or community channels listed on the main site.
